Oscar was first married to Ruby Mae Barker Ford on 13 Aug 1916. They had one child, Walter Raleigh Ford. Ruby divorced Oscar by 1919. Oscar later married Edna M. Carter. She was the daughter of Edgar Earnest Carter and Georgia Ellen Unknown Carter. At the deaths of Edna's parents, the Ford's took custody of Edna's 5 siblings. Oscar Ford and Edna's uncle, Johnnie Houston Carter, shot and killed each other after they argued about who should have custody of the Carter children. Oscar and Edna Ford had custody of the children and John Houston Carter wanted them to be placed in an orphanage. The death of Oscar occurred in Chillicothe, Hardeman, Texas, just across the river from El Dorado.
