Mary Ellen Findlay was born at Laketown, Utah, second child of Arthur Smith and Anna Elizabeth Kearl Findlay on 21 July 1886. She was the second child of a family of twelve children.
Shae was a very lovely person, very helpful and willing to give of her time and talents. She was baptized a member of the LDS church on 4 October 1894. She went to school and helped her parents with the rest of the family.
On 28 October 1908, she was married in the Salt Lake Temple to Adelbert (Fat) Fackrell. They never had children of their own, but their home was open to their many nieces and nephews, and they were good friends to all who knew them.
She was very active in the church. She spent two years on a stake mission. Both she and Fat sang in the choir and sang duets on numerous occasions. She also did beautiful hand work. It seemed she was on decorating committees for all parties and banquets. She made floral arrangements and center pieces.
She and her husband ran the Randolph Hotel for years. Adelbert died suddenly in February of 1937. She made apartments out of her home and rented them until the time of her death. She herself lived some in Randolph, and much of the time in Ogden.
On 4 February 1944, she married Joseph Foremaster. They lived on Iowa Avenue in Ogden. She made many friends here and sang and worked in the church. She was loved by everyone.
Mary and Joseph, along with her mother, Annie E Findlay, were killed in an automobile accident two miles west of Evanston, Wyoming on 9 October 1948.
