There are numerous family trees seen online stating that Barbara's name was Barbara Mary Ludwig and Barbara Mary Ludwick. None of these resources provide any kind of source citation to prove exactly what her maiden name was.
Further research into this matter was recently conducted by FindAGrave Contributor- Jill Ryan-47799662.[Jan 2020] She located a short biography of George Smith who was a son of Jacob Smith and Barbara nee Ludwig Smith. This is one possible citation but it still doesn't coincide with the LUDWICK surname seen on her parents grave marker.
