Obituaries - Pelnar - Taken ill less than two weeks ago, Mrs. Sophia Pelnar, 80, a resident of Two Rivers for 40 years and who had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Angeline Franzmeier, 2310 12th street, Two Rivers, for the past 25 years, died at Two Rivers Municipal hospital Monday morning. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Emanuel Evangelical United Brethren church, Two Rivers., the Rev. m. J. Rochrdanz officiating. Interment will be in Forest View cemetery, Two Rivers. Mrs. Pelnar, nee Sophia Hlavacek, was born in Carlton, Kewaunee county in 1870. Sixty-three years ago she was married to Frank Pelnar in Carlton. After their marriage the couple moved to a farm near Lena in Oconto county, where Mr. Pelnar died 40 years ago. Upon his death she came to Two Rivers with her family to reside. Mrs. Pelnar leaves five daughters, Mrs. Anna Porak of Chicago, Mrs. Emma Lesperance of Milwaukee, Mrs. Angeline Franzmeier of Two Rivers, Mrs. Eleanor Tesinsky of Berwyn, Ill, and Mrs. Mayme Belonger of Oconto and a son, John Pelnar of Two Rivers. She also leaves four sisters, Mrs. Anna Hoffman of Kelly Lake, Wis., Mrs. Antonia Boretsky of Two Rivers, Mrs. Lucy Delane and Mrs. Celeste Lockwood, both of San Diego, Cal., a brother, Emil Hlavacek of Two Rivers, 22 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. For many years Mrs. Pelnar was an active member of the Lucia Conant Study club of Two Rivers. Friends may call at the Klein & Stangel, Inc. funeral home, Two Rivers, from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 11 a.m., Thursday, when the casket will be taken to the church.
