Ambrose Ervin Austin, age 78, 2202 Lookout Avenue, Gadsden, died Monday in a local nursing home after a brief illness.
Funeral services are Thursday at 11:00 at Morgan Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
Survivors are wife, Grace Pate Austin; daughter, Rosemary Austin, both of Gadsden; sons, John Ervin Austin, Oneonta, L.D. Austin, Trinity, Alabama, James Austin, California, John Edward Austin, Mesquite, Texas and Ed Austin of Gadsden; sister, Etta Austin Hathcock, Florida; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Mr. Austin was a native of Marshall County and a resident of Etowah County most of his life. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church.
