Lawyer for the Rochester & Pittsburgh Coal & Iron Company and a Republician Member of the Pennsylvania state senate for the 37th District,from 1941-48. He was married to Blanche Bacon on 4 April 1893 in Wellsboro,Tioga County,PA

Henry Wilson, State Senator Died Friday

Henry I. Wilson, 79, of Big Run, senator from the 37th district since 1940 died in Adrian Hospital in Punxsutawney, Friday afternoon at 2:10 o'clock.

Born in Charlestown township, near Wellsboro, Tioga County, 10 April 1869, the son of Daniel M. and Lydia (Stickley) Wilson, the deceased was a graduate of the Wellsboro High School and Warners Elmira Business College. He studied law and was admitted to the bar of Tioga County in 1892, he re - located to Big Run, Jefferson County in 1893 and had maintained a law office there, continuously since that time.

He had been a member of the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania for a great many years and had been employed by the Rochester and Pittsburgh Coal Company with offices in Indiana.

Mr. Wilson was an expert band and orchestra musician. He composed and taught music, and was the leader of the Punxsutawney band, as well as of many others in the area.

Survivors include his widow, the former Blanche Bacon of Wellsboro, to whom he was married in 1893, two sons, Lavelle A. , attorney at law, Brookville and Corday l., Big Run and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at his late residence, Big Run, Monday, 16 August 1948 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. H. J. Gearhardt officiating. Burial will be in McClure Cemetery, Big Run.
