NEWPORT - Bonnie J. Mason Coury Abicht, 84, of Newport, Ohio, died Tuesday (Oct. 6, 2009) at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg.

She was born Sept. 25, 1925, in Clarksburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Nathan Goff Mason and Nellie Rollins Mason. She attended high school in Clarksburg, W.Va. She was the last of her immediate family. She was a partner in Abicht's Market in Newport with her husband for 35 years. After their retirement in 1996, they traveled to 24 countries and Antarctica. They both loved to travel. She loved her home and family and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was a member of Marietta Chapter 59, Order of the Eastern Star, and the White Shrine of Jerusalem No. 12.

She is survived by a daughter, Rema Lee Robbins, and son-in-law, Wayne E. Robbins of Newport, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Issac Coury; and her second husband, Dean E. Abicht; and two sisters and three brothers, Eula Roach and Margaret Della Mea, and Nathan Goff Mason Jr., Ralph Mason and Ray Mason.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Oct. 9, 2009) at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, W.Va., with Pastor Byron Bufkin officiating. Interment will be in Newport Cemetery, Newport. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. An Eastern Star memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.
