Abilene Reporter December 28, 1997:

DE LEON, TX -- William Thomas "Dub" Barnes, 84, owner of Barnes Lumber Yard since 1946, died Saturday in Dallas.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in De Leon First Baptist Church with Tom Satterwhite officiating. Burial will be in Erath Garden of Memory Cemetery, directed by Nowlin Funeral Home.

Mr. Barnes was born in Comyn and married Elsie Sanders in 1940 in De Leon.

Survivors include his wife, of De Leon; one son, Terry Barnes of Dallas; one sister, Hazel Dahlgren of Stanwood, Wash.; and two grandchildren.
