He was born April, 4, 1927, in David City, Neb. and lived here since 2004, with prior residence in Pine Bluffs.
Mr. Shandera was a lineman for the Rural Electric Association, now known as High West Energy. He also worked at Laramie County Weed and Pest for six years.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Shandera was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, whom he married April 22, 1954, in Pine Bluffs; four daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Mike Harkrider of Austin, Texas, Linda and Gary Hudson of Cheyenne, Chris and Don Timm of Pine Bluffs, and Vonnie and Mike Wagner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Elizabeth Shandera of Kimball, Neb., Dale and Margaret Shandera of Cottonwood, Ariz.; four sons-in-law; three sisters-in-law, Maureen Shandera of Carpenter; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Shandera was preceded in death by his parents, George and Cecilia Shandera; a daughter, Judy Jo Shandera; and a brother, Walter "Bub" Shandera.
