YANTZI, Ada - Ada Mabel Yantzi, age 84 of Tavistock, passed away at People Care Health Care Centre, Tavistock on Thursday, November 16, 2006, to be present with her Lord. She was born in East Zorra Township, Oxford County on July 14, 1922 a daughter of the late Emmanuel and Emma (Brenneman) Zehr. She was a faithful member of Grace Mennonite Church and the former Maple Grove Mennonite Church. Beloved wife of Oliver Yantzi whom she married at Cassel Mennonite Church on December 31, 1941; loving mother of Earl and wife Carol Yantzi and Ruth Yantzi, all of Tavistock; loving grandmother to Kowanda and Michael Furlong, Jeffrey Yantzi and Dennis Yantzi; loving great-grandmother to Megan and Matthew Furlong. Ada's family also includes Austin and Helena Zehr of New Hamburg, Elizabeth Zehr of Tavistock, Elmer and Emily Zehr of Hesston, Kansas; Edward and Laurene Zehr of RR7, Woodstock; Dorothy and Lester Bechtel of Kitchener. Oliver's family includes Vera Yantzi of Milverton, Lucinda Yantzi of Tavistock, Omer Yantzi of New Hamburg, Doris Yantzi of New Hamburg, Elmer and Elma Yantzi, Nelson and Ruth Yantzi, Marie Yantzi, Velma Witzel, Arthur and Edna Yantzi, all of the Tavistock area. Ada is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by "Zehr" brothers-in-law, Eldon Wagler and Amos Zehr; husbands of Elizabeth; Orval Lichty and John Worden, husbands of Dorothy and sister-in-law, Violet Zehr, wife of Elmer. She was also predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jacob R. and Mary (Iutzi) Yantzi; by "Yantzi" brothers-in-law, William Yantzi, Andrew Yantzi, Maurice Witzel and sister-in-law, Marie Yantzi. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday (today) from 7-9 p.m., and Saturday from 2-4 p.m., and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line on Sunday, November 19, 2006 at 2.30 p.m. Pastors Howard Bean and Earl Koch will officiate. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line will follow the service. As expressions of sympathy, donations to World Missionary Press or Christian Aid Ministries would be appreciated and may be made through the Francis Funeral Home.
