IN MEMORY OF MRS. ELLIS BRAY
The cold shadow of Death has again visited the home of Mr. Ellis Bray and took his dear wife, Mrs. Hattie Surilda Bray, daughter of Mr and Mrs T.B. Elrod Sr of Pay Down, who departed this life Feb. 27, 1923, at 1 o'clock after a short illness of Flu followed by pneumonia. She was born Nov. 16, 1884, in this vicinity and has lived here all her life. She was united in marriage to Mr. Ellis Bray Oct 30, 1904. To this union 7 children were born: 4 sons and 3 daughters: Millard Anderson, Ellis Allen, (Thos. Alfred, deceased), and an infant son only a few weeks old. The daughters are Ruby Blanche, Lillian Aliene, and Olive Jewell. Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn her death her aged parents, Mr and Mrs T.B. Elrod and a number of brothers and sisters. Mrs. Bray was a good helpmate, a kind and loving mother, and a good neighbor, always ready to help the sick and all who were in distress. Funeral srvices were conducted by Rev. T.B. Elrod and the remains were laid to rest in the Hutchison cemetery March 1st, 1923, followed by a very large number of relatives and friends who paid their last respect. We wish to extend our sincere sympathy to the husband, children and other relatives. Sadly missed by all her relatives, neighbors and friends. Contributed by a friend, D.M.K.
