Glenn grew up in the ranching business. After graduating from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, in 1926, he went into the automobile business. He worked for the General Motors Acceptance Corporation from 1926-1947, then opened the Glenn Curtis Chevrolet Co in Monte Vista (Valley Lumber Co. today), which changed into the Curtis-Nelson Chevrolet-Olds Co. One of the pickup trucks sold to his brother Ralph was recovered from the family junkyard and is now owned by a great-great nephew.
Glenn purchased the Flying X Ranch on upper Saguache Creek which is now run by Annie Curtis Nielsen and Ed Nielsen.
He was a photographer and collector. Much of his collection is at the Saguache County Museum.
