Funeral services for Francis E. Chapman, who passed away at his home, 330 Fourteenth street N.W., following an illness of years was held this afternoon at the Flora Ray Parker Funeral l Chapel. Adjutant Smith of the Salvation Army Corps conducted the service at 2:00 o'clock. Burial was made at Meadow Ridge Merial Park. The pallbearers were William, Del, Ed, and John Cross, Warren Van Guilder and Roscoe Stam.
Francis E. Chapman was born in Mazeppa in 1855 and grew to young manhood there, where he learned the trade of a stone mason. On November 7, 1876, he was united in marriage to Miss Lillian Carlon. To this union seven children were born, one of whom has preceded his father 1n death. He came to Faribault 29 years ago and has made his home here since.
He is survived by his wife and children including Mrs. Annie McDonough, Mazeppa; Leroy Chapman, Hanley Falls, Mrs. Carl Zuehl, Milwaukee, Wi., John Chapman, Simpson; Morris Chapman, Pine Island and Charles Chapman of Faribault. He is survived also by 21 grandchildren and four great grandchildren
