Claire Irene Schroeder Bruce departed this life and entered eternal life with our Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the age of 74.

Beloved wife of 53 years to the late Milton J. (Pete) Bruce, Sr. Mother of Paula B. Juneau (husband Robbie), Marie B. LeBlanc, Rhonda A. Bruce, Karen A. Bruce and Milton J. (Buddy) Bruce, Jr. (wife Bobbie).

Grandmother of Sunshyne J. Chaney (husband Jonathan), Christopher L. Juneau, Tiffany N. Juneau, Dominique E. (Nikki) Juneau, David A. LeBlanc (fiance Toni); Brandon M. Hadley, Amanda B. Gainey, Michael Snook (wife Amanda), Brandi Graham (fiance Nick) and Cody Graham.

Great-grandmother of Jacob Chaney, Colin Chaney; David Gainey; Victoria Snook, Catilyn Snook, Kalyn Snook and Brennon Snook.

Born to the late Francis (Frank) Joseph Schroeder, Sr. and Pauline Irene Daigle Schroeder on August 14, 1935. She is the sister of Eunice Troulliet and the late Irene Keller; late Lillian Schroeder; late Frank Schroeder, Jr.; late Twin Baby Boy 1 and late Twin Baby Boy 2; late Joseph Schroeder I; late Joseph Schroeder II, late Madlyn Schroeder; late Madeline Schroeder; late Joseph Frank Schroeder. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Mrs.

Bruce was resident of Belle Chasse, LA for many years and a resident for the past 40 years of Gretna, LA. Claire was a member of First Baptist Chasse Church, Belle Chasse, LA for approximately 40 years and an occasional visitor of Calvary Baptist Church, New Orleans, LA. Mrs. Bruce was a homemaker.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Claire's life at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 25, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Spiritual Celebration to follow at First Baptist Church Belle Chasse, LA at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery Whitney Ave. Gretna, LA

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to either the American Diabetes Association Foundation or Akula Foundation c/o Canon Hospice 1201 S. Clearview Pkwy. Jefferson, LA in memory of Claire Bruce.
