OBITUARY: On Sunday, August 9, at the farm near Rocky Ford, of bilious diarria [sic], after an illness of a week, Mrs. Amanda Lucas, widow of the late Peter Lucas, at the age of 77. She leaves two sons and three daughters: William Horn, Wiley Horn, Mrs. Eliza Pierce, Mr. W. E. Jones, and Mrs. John Lucas. Funeral services were held on Monday at the house by Rev. J. L. Rind and were largely attended. The procession was a half-mile in length.
