MORTON, IL - Shirley May Crebo, age 82, of Morton passed away at 1:52 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born on July 27, 1927, in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Otha and Anna Stearns Binkley. Shirley married Roy W. Crebo Sr. in 1951 in Peoria. He preceded her in death in 2002.
Shirley was employed as a teacher, first for the Peoria Association for Retarded Citizens, then later for the Holiday School in Pekin until her retirement.
Shirley attended Liberty Baptist Church in Minier, Ill.
She enjoyed camping with her husband, Roy, and was a member of the Peoria Sportsman's Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Christina (Mike) Underwood of East Peoria and Pamela Crebo of Morton; her grandchildren, Amie Underwood, Bradley Underwood, Haley Crebo and Derek Crebo; one great-grandson, Blake Underwood; her brother, Richard (Mary) Binkley of Paducah, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Roy W. Crebo Jr.; and her brothers, Walter, Kenneth and Keith Binkley.
Funeral services for Shirley will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, with Pastor Melvin Porter officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
