Mrs. Mary Ann DeCosta Lagman, 47, wife of Alfred W Lagman of Kenner, La., and a Newport native, died unexpectedly
Oct. 2 after a heart attack.
She was born in Newport, daughter of Mrs. Mary Rezendes DeCosta of Portsmouth and the late Antone J. DeCosta.
She had lived in Kenner for 14 years.
Mrs. Lagman leaves her mother and her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Connie Johnson of Kenner; three sons, William,
Robert and Edward Lagman of Kenner; a brother, Theodore
DeCosta, and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jestings and Mrs. Helen Soares, all of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren.
Her funeral was held on Oct. 4 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Kenner.
Burial was in the Garden of Memory Cemetery in New Orleans.

Lagman, mother of Mrs. Connie Johnson, William, Robert, and Eddie Lagman; daughter of Mary Rezendes Decosta and the late Antone De Costa Jr.; sister of Ted De Costa, Mrs. Ethel Jestings and Mrs. Helen Soares, all of Portsmouth, R.I., and a resident of Kenner, La., for the past 14 years.
Relatives and friends of the family, also members of
Kenner Police and Auxiliary, Kenner Lions Club, Kenner and Airline Bowling Alleys and Four Roses Carnival Club, are invited to attend the funeral.
Services from the Kenner Funeral Home of L.A. Muhleisen and son, 2607 Williams Blvd., on Monday, October 4, 1971, at 9:30 o'clock a.m., followed by Requiem Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Interment in Garden of Memories.
(Her remains were later relocated to this cemetery and buried with her parents.)
