| Sarah Stone
was the daughter of James Jasper Stone and Selia Ann Young (#31402838).

Sarah Stone was briefly married to Will Mathis. Their marriage ended before the birth of their daughter, Effie Louise Stone, in 1887. Sarah opted to keep her maiden name for herself and her daughter. She and Effie reportedly lived with her mother Selia Stone and brother Harrison Benjamin Stone (#43391110) from the time of Effie's birth until after Sarah's second marriage.

Sarah Stone married John W. Timms on 5 Apr 1897 in Murray County, Georgia. They reportedly continued to live with her mother and brother for a short while after they were first married. Then after Sarah's death, her widowed husband John Timms, and their Timms children, lived with Sarah's brother Harrison Benjamin Stone and mother Selia Stone. [1910 Census]

John had been previously married.

Multiple headstones: The Watts and Timms families erected the present day headstone in 1992.

Much of this information has been shared courtesy of the Notch family via stories handed down by Effie Stone's daughter, Jessye Mae Watts-Notch.

Note: the year of birth on the headstone(s) for Sarah might not be correct.
