ST. GEORGE – AnnaBelle Schmutz Rencher, 96, died Jan. 1, 1988 in the Dixie Medical Center. She was born Oct 23, 1891 in New Harmony, Utah to Gottlieb and Amelia Niederer Schmutz.
She married Mason S. Rencher Jan 1, 1918 in St. George. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. He preceded her in death, Nov. 26, 1967.
She attended school in New Harmony, and later the Branch Normal College in Cedar City. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Primary and Relief Society Presidents. She served as a 4-H leader.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. George A. (Vivian) Sherman of Norwalk, Calif., Mrs. Gaylen (Maryrene) Masters of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. LaMar (Dorothy) Graff of Cedar City, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Rosa Jobb of Wichita, Kan. And Ethel Hall of Seattle, Wash. She was preceded in death by a son, John L. “Jack” Rencher, a daughter Betty Rose Rencher and five brothers.
Funeral services were held Monday in the Spilsbury Graff Mortuary. Burial was in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury Graff Mortuary.
