ALGER - William Edward Beard, 84, Rt. 1, Alger, a retired farmer, died Sunday at 1:30 a.m. of a heart attack.
He was born Jan. 26, 1875 in Vanlue, the son of Henry Beard and Catherine Esterly. He moved from Rawson to Alger in 1940. On Dec. 24, 1899, he was married to Orpha Pressler, who died in 1958.
Survivors include a son, Alvin of Rt. 1, Alger; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Campbell of Rt. 1, Alger; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Etta Shuck of Findlay and Mrs. Elza Siddell of Cleveland; three brothers, Perry of Carey, John of Lima and Charles of Findlay.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hanson Funeral Home, Alger, with Rev Gene Winans officiating. Burial will be in the Preston Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
