Funeral Services for Local Lady Held Sunday; Interment in Fairfield Cemetery
Miss Sarah Clementine Smith was born February 29, 18860, at Moravia, Iowa, and passed away may 8, 1936, at her home west of Fairfield, Nebr., aged 76 years, 1 month and 9 days.
When she was six years old, she left Iowa and came to Nebraska, where she has lived for most of the time.
On June 19, 1878, she was united in marriage to Lewis M. Cook at Exeter, Nebraska. To this union, nine children were born, all of whom are still living except Verne L., who passed away in 1907.
On Nov. 8, 1927, she along with her husband, united with the Methodist Church in Fairfield, Nebr.
Mrs. Cook leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Lewis M. Cook of Fairfield; her eight children, Lester A. Cook of Edgar, Nebraska; Lawrence E. Cook of Fairfield, Nebraska; Mrs. R. W Brubaker of Emmet, Idaho; Lewis D. Cook of Berwyn Nebraska; Ivan A. Cook of Caldwell, Kansas; Melvin D. Cook of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Mrs. G. H. Cassell and Glen P. Cook of Boise, Idaho; Also one brother, William Smith of Seward, Nebraska; also 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, along with many friends.
Funeral Services were conducted May 10, 1936, at 2:30 p. m. at the Methodist church in Fairfield, by Rev. H. F. Beebe. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery.
