Ila Groll, 98, passed away peacefully Dec. 22 at the home of her son Klay in Tremonton, Utah.

Ila was born Aug. 1, 1911 in Randolph, Utah, the eldest daughter of William and Minerva Hoffman.

She was a lifelong resident of Randolph.

She married George A. Groll on Nov. 18, 1931, and the marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS temple on April 17, 1932. George passed away on Aug. 17, 2001.

Ila is survived by her six children: Leah (the late Jerry) Cornia, Weston, Idaho; George W. (Madge) Groll, Goldsboro, N.C.; Margie (Theron) Olsen, River Heights, Utah; Glen (Nancy) Groll, Centerville, Utah; Steve (Liz) Groll, Mapleton, Utah; and Klay (Kathy) Groll, Tremonton, Utah.

She has 23 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Randolph, Utah 2nd Ward. She was a wonderful mother and devoted her entire life to her family. She worked very hard and used her hard work and many talents to enrich the lives of others.

She was a wonderful cook, made countless quilts, knitted, crocheted, tatted, sewed, mended, made crafts, hung wall paper, gardened and worked in the store. She also helped raise all of her younger brothers and sisters after her mother passed away at a young age. Her entire life was dedicated to service of others and because of her life everyone around her had a better life.

A viewing will be held Dec. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Randolph, Utah, LDS church.

A viewing will also be held Dec. 28 at the church from 11 to 12 in the morning followed by the funeral at noon.

Interment will be at the Randolph, Utah cemetery.
