Charles E. (Bud) Worthen, 87, died in a Dysart nursing home Tuesday night, Feb. 28, 1961, following a linger­ing illness.

A lifelong resident of Benton county, Mr Worthen, a retired farmer, was born near La Porte City Dec. 4, 1873, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Worthen. He married Ida Isenhor Miller, Dec. 26, 1900, at Vinton. She died in 1915, at Vin­ton. He married Winnie Lunger Oct. 14, 1920, at Waterloo.

She survives, together with four sons by his first marriage, Willis and Otto, of Vinton, Ralph of Burbank, Cal and Welt of Yakima Wash.; by his second marriage, two sons and two daughters, Donald, of Vinton and James of Iowa Falls; Mrs. Chester (Letta Mae) Westcott of Mt. Auburn and Mrs. Wil­lie (Burnetta) Irvin of Bucking­ham, 32 grand-children and G great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by two sons, Lloyd and Charles and a daughter, Thelma Thompson.
