MRS. F.W. SPENCER Longtime resident succumbs Tuesday
Mrs. Fred Spencer, 73, resident of Crookston since a child of ten, died last night at her home 613 West Sixth Street after an illness of nearly two years.

The former Amelia G. Andrist was born November 13, 1879 in Mantorville, Dodge County, Minnesota. Her parents were Jacob J. Andrist and Barbara Anna Buser Andrist who moved to Ada, Minnesota and in 1889 moved to Crookston. She was had six siblings.

Amelia married Frederick W. Spencer, a local businessman on April 26, 1907 in Crookston, Minnesota. The couple had two daughters, Madeline Barbara and Phyllis Harriet. Amelia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Women's Association of the church. She was a member of the Crookston Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, the Ladies' Auxilliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and the Degree of Honor Protective Association.

Amelia passed away March 17, 1953 in Crookston. The funeral services have been arranged for Saturday at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Stewart T. Robertson officiating. She is buried beside her parents, husband Fred who died in 1949 and daughters, Madeline and Hubert Davis and Phyllis in the Oakdale Cemetery.
