Obituary appeared in the Palo Verde Valley Times on May 19, 2009:

Maclovio "Mac" Aguilar, 68, of Blythe, Calif., went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2009.

"Mac" was born Nov. 14, 1940 in Los Melones, Sinaloa Mexico. He was the son of the late Maria de los Angeles and Mateo Aguilar. He was the youngest of five siblings who enjoyed his music.

Mac did agricultural work most of his life in Blythe and in Mexico. While he was here he loved his mariachi music as if it nourished his spirit. His favorite hobby was singing to those who touched his life.

His greatest joy was family, songs, poetry and flowers. In his last years he developed a fondness for fresh flowers in his home. Those who interacted with him knew all too well how he loved to surprise them with an unexpected singing outburst.

In his spare time he would enjoy working on his own poetry and sharing it with his loved ones. His trademark was touching the lives of many people with his humor and laughter and he maintained it to the end.

Maclovio will always be remembered by his family and friends; he will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his three beloved siblings, two brothers, Domingo Aguilar of Redlands Calif., and Antonio Aguilar of Sinaloa, Mexico; and his sister Teresa Aguilar of Blythe; four sons, Ray, Rudy, Israel, and Tony Aguilar along with two daughters, Angela and Sylvia Aguilar of Blythe.

He had 20 grandchildren and one great-grand child on the way. In 1984, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Aguilar.

All are welcome to join friends and family at Mac's visitation on May 21, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. at Frye Chapel and Mortuary. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on May 22, 2009 at Frye Chapel and Mortuary with burial immediately following at Palo Verde Cemetery.
