Leon was born into the home of Aaron Ray Eads and Mildred Marie Cazee on February 16, 1946 in Monroe County. He worked for Jim Eads Construction and various stone mills around the area. Leon was a member of the Miller Drive Church of Jesus Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cleta "Mert" Eads on February 21, 2003; son, Roy Dale Robert; brother, Raymond Eads; sisters, Patsy Hawkins, and Deborah K. Eads.
Leon is survived by his son, Robbie Eads (Pam) of Bloomington; daughter, Kimberly Ann Kinser (Dewayne) of Gosport; step-sons, Stephen Newton (Deborah) of Solsberry and Ancel Roberts (Renee) of Ellettsville; step-daughters, Mary Jane Jacobs (Tim) of Mitchell and Rose Thrasher (Jay) of Ellettsville; brothers, Ronald Eads (Linda), James Eads (Shirley), and David Eads (Bonnie) all of Bloomington; sister, Betty Sowders of Smithville; caregiver, niece, Charloette Melton of Bloomington; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Chandler Funeral Home on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Bruce Kelly officiating the services. Burial is to follow at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
