Paul served as a Second Lieutenant & Co-Pilot on B-25D #41-30367, 491st Bomber Squadron, 341st Bomber Group, Medium, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Tulare County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 24, 1942 Los Angeles, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a typist and also as Single, without dependents.

B-25D #41-30367 took off on December 20, 1943 from Chakulia, India on a bombing Mission over Burma during the war. They were shot down by Japanese ground anti-aircraft fire and crashed approximately 3 miles west of Kalewa, Burma (Myanmar). Three parachutes were seen.

Paul was "Killed in Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.

He was originally interred overseas and was later repatriated here on September 24, 1949.

Service # O-735674

The reason he is named on a group headstone is because when soldier's were killed in close proximity to each other they were unable, at that time, to identify them separately and interred their remains together in one grave.
