William David Banta, 82, Wyoming, died at his home on December 29, due to a long illness. He was born in Forest Lake in 1887 and his parents were Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Banta. He was married to Olga E. Anderson in North Branch. Mr. Banta was a postmaster and rural carrier in Wyoming. He was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, White Bear Lake, and a member of Hiram Lodge, Lindstrom, rural carriers association. Funeral service was held on January 2, at 2 p.m. at the Mattson Funeral Home, Forst Lake, with the Rev. Paul T. Tente officiating. The organist was Mrs. Phoebe Wellman and soloist was Mrs. John Hicks. Interment was at Wyoming Methodist Cemetery. Surviving him are his widow; a daughter; a granddaughter; one sister; and three brothers.
