The ancestors of Isaac Banta's were from Holland. He came from Kentucky and first settled in St Paul in 1854 and eventually came to Wyoming, where he lived in Section 32 of Wyoming Township. His was one of the first ten Pennsylvania families to settle in Wyoming. His wife Jane Welch was born 10-Sep-1809 in Kentucky, arrived in Minnesota 4-May-1834. She was the daughter of Samuel and Jeanette Welch of Pennsylvania. She died 4-Sep-1884 of paralysis.

Isaac Sr. was born 11-Nov-1811 in Henry County, Kentucky and died in 1895. He was the son of Jacob Banta who was born 3-Apr-1792. Jacob Banta married Phebe Fallis in Henry County on 6-Dec-1810. She was born in Mercer County, Kentucky on 4-Apr-1793. Jacob served in the War of 1812 and died 10-Apr-1844 in Wayne County, Indiana.

Cemetery monuments for Isaac, Sr. and Jane Banta were placed in the cemetery fairly recently. Isaac's dates are given as 1811-1895 and wife Jane's is engraved 1809-1884.
