Irene G. Klingshirn (nee Wohlever), age 83, of Avon, died Friday at her home following a long illness.
She was born in Amherst and had been a resident of Avon since 1944 moving from North Ridgeville.
She was an active member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church in Avon with the Altar & Rosary Society; she was Past President and Chaplin of Ladies Auxiliary of Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 7035, Avon. She also worked the voting booths for the Board of Elections.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Urban; son, Thomas of Newton Falls; 2 daughters, Kathleen Vincent of Avon Lake, Marilyn O'Brien of Beavercreek; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Marian Malone and Teresa Vessalo both of North Ridgeville; 2 brothers, Joseph Wohlever of Elyria, Leo Wohlever of North Ridgeville.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Louise Ogden in 2000; parents, Gertrude (nee Justin) and Leo Wohlever Sr.; 3 sisters, Catherine Barnard, Ruth Becker, Agnes Lanzer; 2 brothers, James and Charles Wohlever.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8PM at David Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville where prayer services will be held on Wednesday at 9:15AM.
A 10:00AM Mass will follow at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 2640 Stoney Ridge Road, Avon. Rev. C. Thomas Cleaton will be the celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Avon.
