Fudge
New Sharon - Mrs. Nellie Fudge, New Sharon, died late Thursday night at the Mahaska Manor at the age of 85.
She was born Jan. 29, 1882, at Pella, the daughter of Mathew and Elizabeth Van Ginkle Van Gorp. on Dec. 12, 1900 she married William Thomas Fudge, who preceded her in death in 1961.
She lived in New Sharon for the past 26 years, and prior to that lived in the Searsboro Community.
Survivors include: three sons, Ora J., of Marengo, Arthur M. of New Sharon, and Glenn W. of Des Moines; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Groenenboom of New Sharon, 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Harry Van Gorp of New Sharon, and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Hess of Hammond, Ind., and Mrs. Carl Perry of Oskaloosa.
The funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Harden Funeral Home of New Sharon. The Rev. Everett Hovey is to officiate with burial in the Friends Cemetery, New Sharon.
