Mrs. Margaret Cheever
Margaret Celestia Chapin was born in Hillsdale County, June 23, 1848, and died at her home in North Adams, May 30, 1916.
She was married to George W. Cheever Oct. 12, 1868 and to this union were born five children three of whom survive her; Edna Hewitt of North Adams; Clara C. Ellis of South Pascagoula, Miss. and George Cheever of Detroit. One died a number of years ago while Edith preceded her mother to her home above by a few months. She was baptized by Rev A.A. Myres and united with the Free Will Baptist Church of Osseo in early life, where she remained a member until she moved to North Adams in 1893 when she transferred her membership to the Baptist Church of this Village.
Her whole life was spent in this county. She was a faithful wife and mother and was greatly respected by those who knew her because of her willingness to lend a helping hand when needed.
Before her health became impaired, she was very active in church work, but for some years back was compelled to give up the work which she loved so well.
Funeral services were held at the Baptist church on Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. F.L. Niles officiating. The burial was at Osseo.

Paralysis Ends Life
Mrs. Margaret Cheever, widow of Geo. W. Cheever died yesterday morning at her home in North Adams village, age 66 years. She had several strokes of Paralysis during the past five years and for four years she had been confined to her chair and a great suffer, but she had only been confined to her bed a short time. Mrs. Cheever was formerly Miss Margaret Celestia Chapin and had been a life long resident of Hillsdale county. Since the death of her husband 20 years ago she had made her home in North Adams. She is survived by a son George Cheever of Detroit and two daughters, Mrs. Edna Hewitt wife of Rev. BP Hewitt pastor of the Baptist church of North Adams, Mrs. Clara Ellis, wife of Rev Benjamin Ellis of Pascagoula Miss, another daughter Miss Edith Cheever died 2 months ago at North Adams. The funeral services will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Baptist Church in Osseo and burial will be in East Hill Cemetery beside husband and daughter.
