Son of William Thaddeus Howard Riley and Lela Elizabeth Latham Riley.
Married Norma Lee Hill July 12, 1944 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Twin Lakes Baptist Church and was well known for his skills as a homebuilder for almost seventy years. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, his wife, Norma Lee Riley; two daughters, Vera Lee Riley and Patricia Ann Riley; five brothers and five sisters; Survivors include one sister, Susan Robson; daughters and sons-in-law, Norma "Jeanie" and Gary Cox, Nance and Douglas Pounds; grandchildren, Rebecca Ashmore and Jim, Victoria Thomas and Clancy, Kenneth Cross, Jaimie Henson and Eric, Jennifer Hendrick and Tom, David Cross and Becky, Michael Cross and Angel and Jonathan Cox; step-grandchildren, DeShay Pounds and Brandy, Derek Pounds; great-grandchildren Jessica, Tyler and Austin Jones, Wesley Nicholas and Katelynn Thomas, Harley, Dariann and Kaylen Farnam and Derick Henson; Madysen Jackson Kendrick, Skylar, Dacey and baby Cross, Shylee and Elizjah Cross; and great-great-grandchildren, Colbey and baby Williams.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 19, 2009, in the Regency Chapel with Rev. Gary D. Cox officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Brawley Cemetery.
Pallbears will be Kenneth Cross, DeShay Pounds, David Cross, Michael Cross, Derek Pounds and Jonathan Cox.
