Lillian Cynthia (May) Miller was born in Townsend Twp, Sandusky Co, OH on 22 Aug 1855, the daughter of Decatur & Cynthia (May) May. Tragically, Lillian’s father died the year she was born, and her mother remarried, her 2nd husband being Levant May. To compound the tragedy, Lillian’s mother Cynthia (May) May also died prematurely in 1859 or 1860 of "white swelling" sickness (i.e. referred to today as tuberculosis of the bone). The 3 orphaned children of Decatur & Cynthia (May) May - Lillian and her 2 siblings, Mary Ella (May) Wiley (1852-1948) & Albert Decatur May (1853-1929), were raised by their maternal grandfather Isaac May. In the US Census of 1860, Lillian is shown in her grandfather’s household as “Lilas” age 5 (which Family Search erroneously transcribed as “Silas”). In the US Census of 1870, Lillian is identified as Cynthia L. May age 15, and was still living in her grandfather’s household along with her 2 siblings, Mary Ella May age 18 and Albert May age 16.

On 28 Feb 1874 in Sandusky Co, OH, Lillian married George F. Miller, the step-brother and first cousin once removed of John Thomas Wiley, the husband of Lillian's older sister Mary Ella (May) Wiley. John Wiley’s mother Catherine (Miller) Wiley died in 1863 in Sandusky Co, OH. In 1864, John’s father Thomas Wiley remarried, his 2nd wife being Catherine (Franks) Miller / Wiley – George F. Miller’s mother - the widow of Andrew Miller, who was the uncle of Thomas Wiley’s first wife. George F. Miller was raised in the Wiley household for a few years. The US Census of 1870, shows George in the household of Thomas Wiley, with a blended family of Wileys and Millers.

To the union of George F. & Lillian C. (May) Miller were born 2 children – Eugene Miller (1876-1968), and Mable Miller b 1879. Sometime in between their births, the family moved from Townsend Twp, Sandusky Co, OH to Amboy Twp, Fulton Co, OH where the family is shown in the 1880 US Census. In the 1900 US Census, they are shown in Pike Twp, Fulton Co, OH. Sometime thereafter, they moved into MI, where they are shown in the US Census of 1910 living in Rome Twp, Lenawee Co, MI. In the US Census of 1920, they were living in Adrian Twp, Lenawee Co, MI, where George died in 1922. Where Lillian was living in the 1930 US Census has not been ascertained, but in the US Census of 1940, she was living in the household of her son Eugene Miller in Fairfield Twp, Lenawee Co, MI. Lillian C. (May) Miller died in Adrian, Lenawee Co, MI on 25 Aug 1946.
