Virgil Turner passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born February 22, 1921 in Wauchula, Florida, to Charles L. and Irene M. (Reddick) Turner. Virgil was an aircraft inspector for the FAA for 30 years. He served his nation proudly during WWII (Battle of Saipan) in the Army Air Corps. Virgil enjoyed fishing for crappie, square dancing and playing cards. He was notorious for giving everyone a nickname. He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Ann; two sons: Robert Turner and his wife, Alta; and Rick Turner and his wife, Lynn; one daughter, Shirley Dunn; two step-sons: Roger Taylor and his wife, Joanna; and Eddie Taylor; four grandchildren: Paula Turney and her husband, Randy; Jennifer Johnson and her husband, Gregg; Jeff Dunn and his fiancee, Sarah; and Erin Turner; four step-grandchildren: Tori Taylor; Ty Taylor; Nicholas Taylor and his wife, Vera; and Ashley Taylor; four great-grandchildren: Garrett Turney, Matthew Turney, Taylor Turney and Isaiah Johnson.

He is preceded in death by his first wife, Hilda Turner; and one son-in-law, Richard Dunn.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 12, 2009, in the Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
