W H Turner was born in Putnam County Indiana and served the Union Army. Pvt. A Co.27th IN Infantry. He enlisted as a private on 12 September, 1861 and died from disease in Frederick Maryland on 14 January, 1862.


Originally buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, Maryland, and then moved to the National Cemetery. (See image of the newspaper clipping from The Examiner dated Jan. 28, 1863.)
