Abbott rites held Thursday
The funeral of Avery Abbott, 73, Monticello, formerly of Bellflower, who died Monday, Oct 5, 1981 was Thursday, Oct 8 at Stensel-Calvert-Belangee Funeral Home, Farmer City, the Rev. Dale Clemans and the Rev. John Haney officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Farmer City.
Mr. Abbott was born June 6, 1908 in Nancy, Ky, a son of William Perry Abbott and Martha (McClendon) Abbott. He married Anna Lillian Thomas Dec 19, 1936 in Somerset, Ky. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Bill, Monticello; and Tom, Bellflower; two brothers, Elmer and Ray, both of Nancy, Ky ; two sisters, Flora Tarter , Eubank, Ky; and Anna Tarter, Nancy, Ky; and five grandchildren.
Two sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Abbott was a retired farmer. He was a member of McLean County Farm Bureau and Calvary Baptist Church, Monticello.
