TARTER, ANNA ABBOTT; 87, a resident of Bradfield House Assisted Living, Dallas, Texas, and formerly of the Lanetown community in Nancy, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at IHS Nursing Home in Dallas.

She was born in Nancy July 2, 1914, daughter of the late William Perry and Martha Jane McClendon Abbott.

She was a homemaker. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 14 years and was a member of White Oak Baptist Church, Nancy, for over 40 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann (and Wendell) Beshears, Dallas; two granddaughters, Teri (and Gary) Gray and Chris (and Scooter) Moomaw; six great-grandchildren, Melody, Anna, Gloria and Heather Gray, and Rachel and Will Moomaw; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Tarter, whom she married Feb. 5, 1936, in Somerset; her parents; three brothers, Avery, Elmer and Ray; and three sisters, Flonnie, Flora and Lula.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, with Dr. James Floyd officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to White Oak Baptist Church, Nancy.
