Son of James Elvery Allsworth and Jane Tilly

Married Eleanor Manwaring, 21 August 1876, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah

Children - James Henry Allsworth, Nellie Fordham Allsworth, Florence Allsworth, Viola Allsworth, Lula Allsworth, Samuel Lavell Allsworth, Sarah Elizabeth Allsworth, George Tilly Allsworth

Married Della Judd, 30 Sep 1893, Grantsville, Tooele, Utah

Children - Bovee Farris Allsworth, William Reilly Judd Allsworth, Arla Lucile Allsworth, Cuba Lucile Allsworth, Louise Allsworth, Della Allsworth

Samuel Allsworth supposedly married his niece, Sarah Jane Whitehead, some time in 1890 in Mexico, in one of the colonias where plural marriage was still practiced. Whether or not a marriage took place, their daughter, Viola Allsworth, was born in Mexico in early 1891. (Viola was given the same name as a daughter of Samuel and Ellen, who had died as a child in 1886.) Viola was raised by her maternal grandparents. Sarah Jane Whitehead married Thomas Kirkwood, and Samuel Ellsworth married Della Judd. Viola was always recognized as a member of the extended Kirkwood family, but perhaps the Allsworth descendants are not aware of her existence.
