Abe Ackerman Obit

Abe Ackerman passed away at his home Friday morning, October 4th at the age of 72 years. The funeral services were held in the Assembly of God Church Monday and burial was made in Pleasant View cemetery.

Obituary

Abraham (Abe) Ackerman son of Johann and Elizabeth Ackerman, was born on Nov. 5, 1873 at Groveland, IL. and passed from this life at his home in Milford, Friday morning, October 4, 1946 at 11:32 at the age of 72 years, 11 months.

At the age of 18 years he moved to the Milford vicinity and made his home with a half-sister, Mrs. Susan Rediger. When 21 years of age he purchased the farm where he made his home for the past 50 years. In November of last year he moved to Milford
to make his home.

On February 23, 1898 he was united in marriage to Miss Ada Smith of Milford. To this union nine children were born: Lydia, Jess, John Esther, Walter. James, Paul and Mary.

Mr. Ackerman was born and raised in a Defenseless Mennonite home and was converted in 1899. In 1915 he began to fellowship with the Pentecostal people. He
acted as an officer of the church since 1919 and was elected as a Deacon of the Assembly of God Church when it was organized in 1926. He held this office until the
day of his passing.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are his beloved wife, Ada, 7 children; Miss Lydia Ackerman at home, Jess Ackerman, of Milford, John Ackerman of Groveland, IL., Esther Ackerman and Walter Ackerman of Milford and Paul Ackerman at home; a
half sister, Mrs. Susan Rediger and a half brother, Joe Miller of North Hollywood, Calif,, 8 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Two children, one grandchild, thirteen brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

The funeral services were hid in the Milford Assembly of God Church Monday, Oct. 7 with Rev. H. C. Meyer in charge, assisted by Rev. M. F. Brant of Lincoln.

Burial was made in the Pleasant View Cemetery.
