A great many of our people went to Tremont on Sunday to attend the funeral of
Mrs. Peter Garber who died at 8 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, after suffering for about
eleven weeks with neutritus, at the home north of Tremont.
Miss Mary Ackermann was born at Groveland, June 20, 1846. She was united in marriage to Peter Gerber, February 24, 1867, at Groveland. They settled on a farm a mile north of Tremont, making that their home thereafter. She is survived by her husband and nine children, Daniel and Peter, of Fisher; John, of Morton; Christ, Samuel, Lena, Mary, Rebecca and Leah at home. Also, five sisters and three brothers, Mrs. John Miller, Mrs. J.C. Redicker, Mrs. George Andermier, Miss Kate Ackerman and Abraham Ackerman all of Milford, Nebraska, Miss Anna Ackerman, of Tremont, and Henry and Daniel, of Groveland, Illinois. She is survived by six grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday at 1 o'clock at the residence and at the First M. E. church at 2 p.m. Interment at the Apostolic Christian cemetery. Rev. A.S. Kreibel, of Anderson,
Ind., officiated.
