Lance Cpl. Alfonso Ochoa Jr., of Armona, California was born to Alfonso C. Ochoa, Sr. and Ramona Ochoa. He was raised and educated in Armona and Hanford, graduating from high school in 2007. Alfonso enjoyed shooting, hunting, soccer and riding quads. He loved sports, history, boxing, golf and animals. He entered the United States Marine Corp on January 13, 2008. Alfonso married Blanca Angelica "Angie" Alva Rugerio in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 24, 2009. He was deployed to Bakwa, Afghanistan on May 29, 2009. Alfonso had an undetermined amount of drive, potential and compassion. He was very family oriented and devoted. His way of making people laugh was incomparable. But overall, Alfonso was fearless; his bravery stayed true until his last breath. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Angie Ochoa of Armona, his parents, Alfonso C. Ochoa, Sr. and Ramona Ochoa of Armona; his two brothers, Daniel Ochoa and Alex Ochoa, his grandparents, Margarito and Micaela Miramontes of Visalia, his mother -in-law, Blanca Rugerio of Las Vegas, his sister-in-law, Maria and brother-in-law, Attilio, many extended family members and friends. Alfonso died at age 20 while supporting combat operations in Farah province, Afghanistan.
