BOLING, C.A. - C.A. Boling, a resident of Bentonville for 30 years or more, died at his home in this city late Thursday afternoon, July 16th, 1931 at the age of 77 years. Mr. Boling suffered a stroke of paralysis on July 13th while making crates at the Bentonville Packing Company. The family were hopeful for a time but he gradually grew worse. Up until his stroke Mr. Boling had been enjoying good health and was able to do light work. He was a good citizen and highly respected by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon, the Rev. W.O. Felts, pastor of the Nazarene Church, conducting the services. Burial was made in the City Cemetery. Born in Salem, Ind. June 16, 1854 Mr. Boling spent his earlier years there. In 1877 he was married to Mary E. Payne to whom were born ten children. The family later moved to Altoona, Kans. where Mr. Boling conducted a store and was postmaster for years. He moved his family to Bentonville in 1889 which place had since been his home. Besides his widow, Mrs. Mary Payne Boling, he is survived by six sons, S.P., R.D. and D.P. Boling of Bentonville; E.M. Boling of Salida, Colo.; T.B. Boling of Neodesha, Kans.; L.H. Boling of Tenino, Wash. and by three daughters, Misses Belle and Florence Boling of the home and Mrs. Dora McClentil of Miami, Okla. He also leaves 26 grandchildren and 11 great - grandchildren.[Benton County Record & Democrat & Sun - Bentonville, Benton County, Arkansas - July 23, 1931]

Charles' father and mother were Isaac N. Boling b. c1831 and Ann Stanley b. c1836, both in Washington Co, IN. Unknown exactly when the parents died, but it was when Charles Albertus was quite young. [Thank you Linda (#46781294) for the information]

Charles & Mary's 10th child was Lon K. Boling (b. 1882).

Charles & Mary are the parents of my great-uncle John Preston "Stripe" Boling.
