From Sallie's Obit in the Salem Republican Leader, Friday June 4, 1889, we know the following about her: 1) She was wife of Jordan Miller Payne 2) she died Wed., May 8th, 1889 of "consumption" 3) she was in the "33rd year of her life" 4) her maiden name was Boling 5) she was born in Missouri 6) her "parents died when she was quite young." These were Isacc M. Boling and Anna Stanley Boling. 7) she was raised by her maternal grandparents (Barnabas and Martha Hitchcock Stanley. 8) She married Jordan in 1876 9) she had 5 children - 4 of whom (all girls) survived her 10) the funeral was at the Quaker Church on the 9th.
