Vera M. (Bushnell) Admire, 97, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Oct. 10, 2009, at Franklin United Methodist Community. She was a former resident of Morgantown.

Vera was born Sept. 10, 1912, in Cleveland to the late Irving and Margarite (Landry) Bushnell. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 40 years, Edward E. Admire on July 6, 1973. They were married Aug. 29, 1932, in Erie, Pa.

Vera was the loving mother of Bernard E. "Bernie" Admire and his wife, Emma, of Franklin and Gary J. Admire and his wife, Jayne, of Indianapolis. She was an inspiration to her six grandchildren, Burke Admire and his wife, Pam, of Franklin, John Admire and his wife, Patty, of Madison, Tom Admire and his wife, Erica, of Saint Joseph, Mich., Jim Admire and his wife, Beth, of Franklin, Jason Admire and his fiancee, Audray Bradshaw, of Honolulu and Michael Admire of Indianapolis. Vera was great-grandma to nine.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Irene White, Evelyn Jenks and Ruth Jordan; and one brother, Wilfred Bushnell.

Vera was a 1928 graduate of West Tech and Commercial High School in Cleveland.

She retired from Morgantown First State Bank after 20 years of service.

Before that, she worked for Prudential Life Insurance Company in Cleveland.

Vera was a 50-year member of Morgantown Order of the Eastern Star and a 60-year member of Morgantown United Methodist Church and attended Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin. Other memberships include Kappa Kappa Sigma sorority of Morgantown and Morgantown Senior Center.

She was a special lady who will be greatly missed yet fondly remembered by her family. Vera enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and making Raggedy Ann dolls, which she sold in Brown County.

The Rev. John Ely will conduct a funeral service at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., in Morgantown. Friends may call from noon until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. An Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted by Morgantown Order of the Eastern Star following the service Tuesday. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.

Vera was a 50 year member of the Morgantown Order of the Eastern Star, 60 year member of the Morgantown United Methodist Church and attended Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin. Other memberships include: Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority of Morgantown and Morgantown Senior Center.

She was a special lady, who will be greatly missed, yet fondly remembered by her family. Vera enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and making "Raggedy Ann" dolls which she sold in Brown County.
