9/28/2019 Suggested edit: Mr. VanDyke died in Denver on Tuesday, April 4, 1978, after a lengthy illness. He was born September 20, 1889 at Humphrey, NE., where he was reared and educated.
On January 8, 1913 he was married to Ida German at Humphrey. They later moved to Colorado where she passed away in 1951. He married Bertha McFadden on February 14, 1953 at Denver. He farmed near Burlington, CO. prior to moving to Loveland in 1935. He moved to Denver in 1940.
Surviving are his wife, Bertha; nine daughters, Marjorie Garrett of Golden, CO, Esther Marye, Marty Dettridge, Bertha McDougal, Rita Dindinger of Denver, Leota Orange of Littleton, CA, Eleanor Smith of Englewood, CO, Rose Elizabeth McFadden of Kansas City, Bernadette Grahamof Oxnard, CA; Eight Sons, Irvin Vandyke of Fort Lorgan, CO, Eugene VanDyke of Lakewood, CO, Jerome VanDyke of Longmont, CO, John McFadden of Oxon Hill, MD, Joseph McFadden, of Auror, CO, James and Frank McFadden of Arvada, CO; 48 grandchildren; three sisters Mrs. Frank (Catherine) Stenger of Norfolk, NE, Mrs. Martin (Mary) Stoffel of Milwaukee, and Mrs. Frank (Gertrude) Boos of Lafayette, CA.
