John Edward Adams, 66, of Sterling, died Friday, June 4, 1999, at his home.
There was cremation. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, with the Rev. T. L. Phillips officiating.
Mr. Adams was born on Jan.18, 1933 to Edward and Edna(Cox) Adams in Big Springs,Neb. He graduated from Ovid High School in 1951 and from Northeastern Junior College in 1953.On May 29, 1982 he married Pearl Ann Budin in Sterling. He farmed and ranched in the Crook area from 1952 to 1985.
He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir since 1981. He was a charter member of the Centennial State Chorus, the local barbershop quartet group S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. since it was organized in 1971; many church choirs since 1952, and a member of the Platte Valley Station quartet for many years. He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, Logan County Historical Society, and Northeastern Colorado Cattlemen's Association. He enjoyed singing, woodworking, crocheting, building and repairing.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Ann Adams; a stepdaughter, Kim Larson and husband Brian of Greeley; two half-sisters, Elizabeth Keener and husband Floyd of Loveland, and Doris Roediger of Mayetta, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his half-brother, Alfred Adams; and two half-sisters, Marguerite Erichson and Mildred Criswell.
