Nathan R. Casey a resident of Naperville since 1975 Visitation for Nathan R. Casey, 86, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville. The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, at Knox Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Naperville Cemetery. Born April 1,1922, in Chatham, Va., he died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Manor Care, Naperville. Nathan was a graduate of the University of Virginia, with a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, Class of 1947. He served his country during World War II as a lieutenant in the Navy. He retired in 1984 from General Electric, after 36 years as a mechanical engineer. He was a very active member of the Knox Presbyterian Church, being involved with the Hall of Famers and Meals on Wheels. He was also an active member of the Naperville Evening Kiwanis Club for 21 years. Nathan also volunteered at the Hesed House in Aurora. He is survived by his two sons, Steven of Naperville and Douglas (Susan) of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Billie (Reginal) Boaze of Danville, Va.; five grandchildren, Shaun, Douglas, Ashley, Samantha and Ray Casey; and one niece, Patricia Anderson. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty on Dec. 5, 1991; three sisters, Betsy Casey, Virginia Powell and Irene Yates; and a great-granddaughter, Arianna.
