Temperance Eddins was the wife of Moses Knight, they made their home in Chesterfield County, South Carolina. Aaron Knight established the Fork Creek United Methodist church, it is believed that is were Moses and Temperance are buried, but not proven.

Temperance and Moses were the parents of ten children.

On the 1850 Chesterfield County S.C. census is Moses Knight age 53; Temperance age 55; Mary Knight age 22; Elizabeth Knight age 19; William W. Knight age 18; James P. Knight age 16; Moses E. Knight age 15 and Killis H. Knight age 13.

Temperance was on the 1860 Chesterfield County, S.C. census in the home of her daughter Elizabeth Knight Davis and spouse Elisha Davis. Temperance was enumerated as Tempy Knight, age 60.

Temperance was on the 1870 Chesterfield S.C. census with Moses, enumerated as T. Knight, age 75.

Moses was noted as a 'widower' on the 1880 Lancaster County, S.C. census, apparently Temperance died between 1870 - 1880.
