He was born Aug. 4, 1903 in Midway to Luke Elisha and Ellis June Hofeltz Provost. He married Eliza Lavilda Winterson on Aug. 2, 1923.
A farmer and miner, he was also a former employee of the U.S. Forest Service. He was a member of the LDS church.
Surviving him are his widow; sons, daughters, Junior LaMont Provost, Victor D. Provost, Mrs. Don (Wanda) Ryan, Lloyd Provost, Michael Provost, Mrs. Bill K. (Joan Diane) Colovich, all Heber City; Buddy Elden Provost, Donald Ray Provost, Mrs. Wayne (Shirley) Ivie, all of Salt Lake City; 21 grandchildren; great-grandson; brother, sisters, Wallace Provost, Midway; Mrs. Rachel Brim, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Frank (Pearl) Kartchner, LDS Mission, Missouri.
The services will be held at the Midway LDS Second Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Olpin Mortuary, Heber City, Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in the Midway Cemetery.
